(IIS) Grogol Flyover

This is a Flyover bridge at Grogol, West Jakarta.
A friend who studied architecture said:
Bridges have gap to compensate material expansion during hot weather.

Then her face changed,
"But this gap is waaay too much. Something is very wrong".

No wonder i rolled my eyes
when i heard Jakarta MRT project is coming.
Public facility management in Indonesia is just... pathetic.

"Change into cheap material for more profit"
"Jakarta's MRT went off track due to rail damage."
How can I help myself for not thinking so?
